Fire From The Rock

"Fire From The Rock" by Sharon Draper, is based on true events that took place in Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1957. Sylvia is faced with the choice of intergrating into an all white high school or stay with her friends and go to the neighborhood school. If she chooses to attend Central High, she will face hatred, harassment, name calling, perhaps violence, and much more. There is a huge responsibility associated with integration, but can Sylvia endure leaving her friends and standing up for what is right.
